Tommy Nelsen

PA-C

Thomas Nelsen, PA-C graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse concentrating on Bio-Med with minors in chemistry and mathematics. Subsequently, in 2024, he earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Wingate University in Hendersonville, NC. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, he found himself drawn to North Carolina initially for his education and eventually to coastal Wilmington, where he was excited to join the team at Atlantic Brain and Spine in February 2025. In this role, Thomas maintains a clinical presence in the office and serves as first assist in the operating room, helping manage a variety of conditions including Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, epilepsy, brain tumors, and degenerative cervical/lumbar spine disease. He was drawn to Atlantic Brain and Spine for its most advanced surgical techniques as well as its evolving functional neurosurgery and movement disorder program with Dr. Gregory Davis. In his free time, he enjoys taking advantage of the coastal waters — fishing, swimming, and boating — as well as spending time with friends and his dog, Sammie.
